There are serious gaps in services to newcomers in New Brunswick. These gaps range from lack of legal aid support to inadequate and unaffordable housing.

There is also a gap that temporary foreign workers, especially, face. Brought to our province by a fundamentally exploitative program, many migrant workers are unable to access services when they need help. Often, this is because so many newcomer serving agencies are not funded to serve temporary foreign workers, or it is simply because workers are working under exploitative conditions preventing them from seeking the help they need.

The Madhu Verma Migrant Justice Centre was founded to address situations resulting from those gaps while advocating for border and migrant justice.

Please contact us if you are a worker who has questions and concerns about your current situation, even if the assistance you require is not listed.
